Derby News

Calvin took 3rd place for Weblos at the District Pinewood Derby on Saturday. This was his last official Cub Scout derby. Way to go Calvin! Now he and his dad are getting ready for the Elders Quorum annual derby. Different rules, steeper competition and serious fun!

Poor PK

Parker took a nasty fall off the bunk bed and into the windowsill last night. A serious case of horse play gone bad. Needless to say his older siblings were oh so attentive to his (and their parents) needs for the rest of the evening.

Progress disguised as play

Guy rented some heavy equipment last weekend so he could clear out more of the trees and underbrush, and to burn the HUGE piles of debris. He has been waiting all winter for the chance to get out there and clean things up a bit. He also loves to"work" with the big toys. We use to have about half of the property taken up by trees, but have decided to open up the space to allow for more light and possibly a pasture area for a few cows. It is so exciting to see Guy out there shaping the land and creating the place we are anxious to call home.

Tanner

Tanner really likes the hot tub. There were several evenings this winter he asked to go in all by himself to "relax". Some times he likes to use it as his personal party pool!

Claire and Brewster

We went to my friend Lacy Edward's house a few days ago. Claire and Lacy's dog, Brewster, had a sweet moment that I was able to capture. The Edwards have had "Brew" for 11 years and had to put him down just a few days after these pictures were taken. He was a great dog.

Pinewood Derby 2007

Oh the anticipation and the work that goes into every derby. This year Calvin and Guy made two cars. It is fun to watch them work together and the excitement is only matched by that of (maybe) Christmas.

Adorable Haircut

Lauren had her hair cut and a few high lights put in by auntie Heather recently. She looks so adorable with this haircut!
